Huh...I don't know if a BIOS update will let older machines take advantage of the virtual RAM.

Ivan emailed me again and said that it could work so I will wait until Fujitsu puts the BIOS for the N6220 on their site and finger's crossed it will work.

Does Fujitsu ever put the BIOS up on their site? I've never seen them do it.

that is what i was kind of worried about, let's start a petition tttttada, they have to do it for us, oh by the way, another question about your hd's, i am going to go ahead and get a 7k100 80gb or 100gb and just wondered if i can just transfer everything from my 80gb 4200rpm to my new 7200 rpm and then just move things how i see fit after that? is it just drag and drop between the two drives?

i just want everything to be moved to my fast drive then keep all my apps etc. and move my big video files and stuff.

FS seems to be at the same level of quality, which is great. You could always import one ;)

Doesn't the Omega drivers enable hypermemory on the X600? I installed the omega drivers on my X300 and it enabled hypermemory (as told from 3dmark).

I don't fully understand your question, but I used a cloning kit from Acronis and it worked flawlessly. IMO there is no other way to go about it. Once you're done formatting the old drive, you could then:
    1) install the old drive into the secondary HDD slot
    2) drag the big files from the 7K100 -> 4200RPM.
    3) delete the files from the 7K100

ok you answered my question tttttada, i just wanted to make sure it was necessary to move the 4200 rpm 80gb to the second slot and put the fast one in the primary, or if it would work either way, but i will put the 7200 in the primary slot. thanks again tttttada.

btw i tried omega drivers and i'm pretty sure hypermemory wasn't enabled, i didn't mess with it much but it didn't look like there was any thing that would allow it, maybe someone else could give it a try

i just got done talking with Fujitsu Help chat, i was a pretty big jerk and didn't get much out of him except that he believes that a BIOS update wouldn't enable Hypermemory, I asked him how the N6220 was able to use hypermemory, is the X600 in the N6220 physically different than the N6210?

Fujitsu does not make the ATI card in your computer, ok thanks for nothing :) He also said Fujitsu will only release a BIOS update if something is found to be wrong with the original. sounds like it might not happen. but if they put drivers for the N6220 on their website i will try that video driver, if they ever put drivers for the N6220 on the site :(
