thank you all very much
circa, machzero and irishrover; i really appreciate your advice
you know i can get a very good price with a 512MB RAM (n6210 for ex) and then get a 1MB stick but i don't have experience installing it. but then i'll have an X600 and i'm not sure how big is the difference with the X1400, I believe it's significant (if you look at http://www.ati.com/products/mobile.html)
i think that the n6410 is an exceptional value. just compare it with
the new Qosmio G35 and you'll see... -
I cancelled my order
no plans for now -
What happened, totti? Did pcsuperdeals not pull through on their end?
-
this is the worst purchase experience i've ever had!!
i cancelled the order on wednesday and still cannot get my money back
TO EVERYONE, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS
They are holding the money on my account since last Friday and nobody answers my calls or emails
i called my bank and they think i have been defrauded and told me i should fill an e regulation form so that they can begin an investigation for me
If by Monday i do not hear from them, I will have to report them to the appropriate authorothies. I am a peaceful person but they left me no choices. -
Wow, sorry to hear that.
I really don't want to make you feel any worse than you already do but I just couldn't help but think of the old adage "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is." I didn't see too many good reviews of that particular store when I did a search after you had mentioned them, but I didn't want to worry you and was crossing my fingers that things would work out well. I wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue. Let us know how it turns out.

They are a BBB member, file a complaint with BBB in any case.
Why did you order from them in the first place? Price? -
Mwave has a great deal on the 6410. I looked at their sight today - bought one for 1379. I was on the fence then I saw this price. **** them!
-
thanks machzero, i'll keep you posted. i consider the vaio sz110/B now but i'm really indecided yet. you know i'm not in a hurry to get a notebook but i don't see the need to wait either. i've been doing research for 5-6 weeks now...
by the way, what is bbb? -

i really like the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pi1536 T2303 sold in Europe for 1259 (about $1489) with this configuration:
Intel Core Duo Mobile T2300 1,66 GHz
RAM: 1GB DDR2
HDD: 100 GB SATA 5400RPM
CD-RW, DVD -R/-RW, DVD +R/+RW, DVD +R double layer
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 HyperMemory 128 MB UP TO 512MB!!!!
6.6 lbs
it's a shame we don't have a similar value in the US -
it looks like this

Cancelled my order thru Mwave. The order was "waiting for approval" for days. I finally called in and they asked me to fax in my approval! Nobody called or e mailed me saying this was needed.
Basically just decided not to do business with them. -
finally got a chance to take some high quality photos of the N6410, i will post the review either tomorow evening or the next day so be on the look out.

hi guys,
how do you handle N6410 thin plastic case and moderate screen flex?? I read about it on monilityguru.com site review. This seems to be a showstopper but would like your opinion about the sturdiness of N6410? -
Friends, I have one n6410 but I have one problem. When I use the keyboard, my arm block the right speaker, and its sound not play well, is it been preview when the notebook was build?
-
It is made out of a magnesium alloy. Not plastic.
-
The casing is extremely sturdy, the screen does not flex a great amount for it's size, I think the casing is very well built.
my review will be posted very very soon so please be on the look out.
When i use the N6410 my arm doesn't block the speakers at all unless i'm using the Numpad. I think the placement of the speakers works very well, I don't like the subwoofer placement however. -
Does it have DVI?

The problem is that the CPU is not upgradable according to my Fuji dealer. The HP dv8000t ultrabright view screen (very similar to Fuji 6410) through Costco allows me to have 6 months of security (Fujitsu's have superior service/rep), superior 2.0 CPU & 7200 HD, with similar GPU, RAM, sound, etc. The 6410 weighs nearly 2 lbs. more than the dv8000t with a shorter battery life by 1/3 (although I didn't test the 6410 at minimum brightness which is excellent as well-warning the dv8000t with brightview alone/single lamp is dark and with a narrow viewing angle). So, with a much lower cost and benefits of weight, battery life, faster CPU, HD, Costco warranty for six months, I'm buying the HP machine instead. The 6410 is a more durable built unit with nicer keyboard and nominal junkware on its HD unlike HP's junk filled HD (not as bad as Dell though).
Fujitsu N6410 mini pre-review ^_^
