    Hey,

I was talking to you in the TX650 vs P7120D thread. I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions:

    1. Do you know if this memory is compatible with the P7120D? I can save almost $100 on 1GB of ram buy getting the ram from there instead of Fujitsu.

    2. When is your review going up?

    3. I know the P7120D isnt a gaming machine, but I am interested in finding out how many 3DMarks it acheives. Do you know?

    4. This company was recommended to me for purchasing the P7120D. Do you know of any better?

    Thanks in advance.

According to the Fujitsu website, these notebooks ship with DDR400/PC3200 memory-

Installing a higher rated memory will not improve anything, as the higher rated memory will only operate as DDR400/PC3200.

You'll just be wasting your money.

Here are the memory tech specs from Fujitsu-

    It requires 172 pin microDmms

    Hope this helps-

I wasnt buying the memory because it was faster, I was buying it because its half the price of the memory that fujitsu sells.

In fact that site has the cheapest Micro DIMM's I have found so far.

But since you mention is requires 172pins I guess I am screwed. Back to the drawing board...

Edit: Just found this one that is still slightly cheaper than the Fujitsu stuff.

    1) Already answered it seems. The second one you found will probably work. I got mine from Portable One.
    2) 2 weeks or so
    3) 3d Mark generally doesn't run or run well on this type of machine, haven't tried yet. You'll be okay for RTS games, but that's about it.
    4) I'd only buy from Portable One ;)

    @ 3:

I have an old Dell Inspiron thats got a 1Ghz PIII & a GeForce2Go 32MB GPU. I am trying to ascertain what the P7120D's 3D performance in regards to that system will be, because it was quite capable of playing many 3D games (including WoW).

I *realy* wish I could go to a retail store and try one of these out, but I cant find any retail outlets that sell it. =0(

P.S. I'm in Houston, TX. If anyone knows of a retail outlet here that sells the P7120D, I'd love to know.

Edit: Oh well. Impatience got the better of me and I ordered one. Hopefully I wont be dissapointed.

I think the memory you linked IS 172 pin - you might call them.

If it's cheaper, go for it- the extra headroom won't hurt anything.

The first memory I linked to says its 214pin, but my later post was for a 172pin module.
