I wondered if anybody knows if there is any news on a Fujitsu P773? I think i am going to soon upgrade my Sony SZ and i have looked at the P772 and the Panasonic 12.1 SX3. Specs wise the P772 appeals to me the most. If there is not going to be a P773, then i would seriously consider buying a P772. I've bought various P series for family members and overall they have been good notebooks. In terms of styling, the PH702 in white is what i like, but specs wise they don't match the premium series. That though wouldn't put me off now from buying. What has really made me want to buy a P series even more, is that you can get six or seven years warranty for your laptop. I bought my nephew a P770 recently and the 3 year (i think) standard warranty just expired and i extended it for three more years. I tend to keep my laptops for at least five years now, and that kind of service is ideal for me.

I know that in Japan the equivalent model has been discontinued. Also, in North America it appears to be also. Can we expect to see a P773 in Europe?

I had a look at the UK and other EU websites and i don't see the P772 listed anymore. I think that it probably has been discontinued now the P 12.1 premium series, but i could be wrong on that. There is nothing about the P773 on their website and other new models due to come out are on the website. I will think about buying a P772. If it has been discontinued, that is a bit of a shame.

As a long time P770 users, I agree. The P772 looks interesting, and a P773 with Haswell and a touch screen would be awesome!

However, the U904 seems a valid alternative, if you don't mind the 14" screen.

My Sony SZ broke yesterday and so it really is between the P771 and P772 for me seeing as this series has been discontinued. I am going to see if there is any compelling reason for me to get the P772 over the P771. I like that from the P771 onwards that you can use a modular 2nd battery. I'm not too keen on touchscreens myself.

    ..
I've seen that the P772 has much better stated battery life.
Notebookcheck rate the P771 display over the P772, i wonder has anyone used both and their thoughts on this?
I'm using a loaned SZ right now as my desktop notebook, but keeping an eye out for notebooks for sale. The S904 looks like a really good notebook, that would be a good replacement for my SZ. I wanted to only have one notebook down the line, the 13.3 screen size, is a little bigger than i wanted.

rfelder, i haven't bought anything yet. I put a bid on a P771 yesterday but I didn't win the auction. Also, i've seen a P772 on ebay that has an i5 processor, but i would prefer one with a i7 processor. I'll continue to wait and see what comes up.

Unless you really need the most battery life, the i5 is a better CPU. It performs well and battery is fine for most purposes
I have two of the P772 and like them for what they are - an extinct form of laptop that will fit two full-sized hard drives.
I use a 1TB SSD boot drive and another one in the optical drive bay.
My main complaint is that the display quality is not good compared to what one expects from a newer laptop or tablet.
Mine are running win 7, but 8 drivers exist if you want that OS.

BTW, are you the same Rachel from the defunct LeoG by any chance?
