    Hello,

I've been reading through the documentation that came with my Fujitsu S6210 (which is awesome btw), and i found that there appears to be two methods to restore the operating system on the machine.

    1. It comes on a partition on the hard drive, run a utility (how?) and it will whip your computer clean w/ the image on the partition (can be modified using a utility to include programs, your personal files etc).

    2. It comes with a DVD...

Now my question is, does the DVD that comes with it, have the same information as the 2gb partition thats on the hard drive? If so, why can't i delete that partition to free some space since i have a DVD with the system restore on it??

Thanks for everyones help, Esp brian, he answers quickly, and accurately!

I recently had to use the system restore DVD on a P7010D. Prior to that, I had already deleted the empty 2 gig partition and reallocated the space for a Linux installation. After using the DVD to erase the hard drive, I encountered an error when trying to restore the contents of the C: drive. The error stated there was no space left on C:, so the only option it would allow me to use was the second one (restore original partitions and system). However, I got around this by running Win XP setup/recovery console and then using FIXMBR and DISKPART to restore the MBR and set my partitions. After that, I ran the DVD again and it restored everything to the C: drive using the paritition arrangement I created. I'd imagine that it's not too different with the S6210...hope this provides some useful insight.
