Are you happy with your Fujitsu laptop?

I am. It is fast enough for gaming, silent enough for work and watching dvd. Has BT, WiFi, DVD-RW, 4in1 card reader, 4 USB. I don't need more

I am happy with my M1437G. I am using it for 1 year and 3 months now and I have had no major problem. The only problem I had was BSOD but that was due to Omega drivers, no fault of F&S.
The only downside is that the palm area of the notebook can get dirty (but I should have used stickers to prevent that but I didn't).
I also like the warranty of F&S and the fact that they include all CD's and manuals. -
I only have it for a month now. But yes, I'm satisfied with some minor bugs...
There has to be running Realtec audio application to allow me to use headphones socket. Application not working - no headphones - perhaps it's just an Windows XP problem but this application is taking a lot of memory...
HDD is slow... With 5400rpm... I guess it has to be that way when you switch from desktop 7200 rpm one...
And it takes painfully lot of time to start... My old desktop with PIII 933 starts faster. With similar applications starting (firewall, AV, etc, though no notebook specific programs).
I just found that LG DVD recorder is slow too with only 8x ... I have an external USB recorder so I can live with that but I was surprised (my fault, should have to check specs before buying). -

Weird problems you have Wojtek... The 1.73 GHz Core Duo should start in 40-60 seconds. I reviewed a 1.66 GHz Core Duo F&S and it started in 45 seconds. Have you formatted your notebook (do you have the right drivers).
And try to install all the hotfixes, they are put on your Recovery CD. -
-
Ha. I did review "Startup" group and registry "Run" key and removed a lot of stuff..
It's my original setup, I didn't reformatted it.
It started after I installed Symantec Internet Security 2006... I know THIS program is slow, but uninstalling it didn't help. I know I have to reinstall system from scratch but I don't have the time to do that.
Also I'll measure startup time later. -
Mine also takes a bit to start, don't know how much time exactly, but it doesn't bother me. (Boyfriend's Celeron M 1.66GHz starts much faster.) It's maybe a minute and a half - just guessing here - but whatever, I don't really care. (Btw I did format, no Norton, and I have removed all the crappy stuff that adds itself to startup. Used Autoruns from Sysinternals.)
Wojtek - did you try burning DVDs on it? You know, 8X DVD is much faster than 8X CD, and it's actually the normal speed to have. They don't come in 48X like CD burners because, well, they don't have to.
I have a white palmrest, for a year now, and there's no discoloration or paint coming off. Looks the same as the day I got it. But Fujitsu has higher quality than Fujitsu-Siemens, so perhaps that explains it.
As for me, I'm totally happy with mine. Plan to have it for a long time. And when it dies (or I happen on a buncha money), I'll replace it with the current model of the same

But it's portable and I can live with it.
Overall its' quality is good. -
Ok. Here are times.
From button press to logon window - 44 seconds (1:06 till disk activity stops).
Then from login on till disk activity stop - 2:15.
Application starting: PGP, Symantec Internet Security 2006, NHC, ATI tray tool, Realtec application.
I say it is uncomfortably long.
So format and reinstalling from scratch is inevitable. -
Yeah that is long...
Malia -
I'm guessing its all the start up programs you have installed.
I have only fujitsu hotkey, shock sensor, and atheros driver loaded and my windows XP pro takes about 55 seconds to boot up completely. (Button pressed -> HDD stops) -
N6220: had it for about 15mos. Very happy. Display is still the best in the business. 2nd drive capability is great for backup, storage. One repair, wireless card...sent machine to Fuji factory repair, local repair facility is unfriendly and slow. Solid machine (knock knock).

If you would have asked six months ago I would have said that I was completely satisfied but then the plug hole in the back where I stick in the power cord worked it's way loose and it a real pain in the A$$ to have to wiggle the power cord behind the computer to allow the laptop to get power. A flaw in the design of this Lifebook S6210 if you ask me but when I called Fujitsu they wouldn't give me a part number or allow me to purchase the part from them and the only thing they would do is offer to fix it for $555.00 plus shipping both ways. I've had three Sony Vaios that I kept longer than this one and never had a problem with any of them and as worthless as Fujitsu was for their design flaw I will be going back to Sony. I'll try and operate on this one just as soon as my new SZ480 comes next week and give this one to the kid.
Overall this has been a good laptop... it just can't take constant usage like my past Vaios have.

Just have one regret about the N5010 I bought nearly 3 years ago. The bios is pretty pathetic; very few options. Oh, and now that I run linux I wish I had an nVidia graphics chip, rather than an ATI. Otherwise, I love it
Edit: Jerz and others- please post lifespans to the following thread, if you haven't yet.

I've been using my Stylistic 4110 tablet for 3 or 4 years (bought it as an eval unit for a project first month after tablets first came to market) and I think its great. I have a docking station and wireless keyboard for it and have been using it about twice a week in the office, and continuously when I'm at conferences or seminars off-site/out of town, since it was new.
My only real gripes about it are 1) that it occasionally loses its head when coming out of standby and has to reboot about 3x before getting to the point where you can log on and 2) its not the newer 51xx series with the indoor/outdoor viewable screen and core duo processor.I'd buy it again in a heartbeat though.

Yeah Im happy with my Lifebook series E8210 t7400, X1400 256, 2GB, 120GB, XP Pro.
However, I thought the 15.4" wxga SF screen would be more clear, I think its an internal VGA connection not DVI.
I came with a mouse cary case and port replicator which has DVI-D. -
I'm happy with mine. There were a few bugs at the start, but after updating the drivers, and replacing Norton with AVG, it's running smoothly. Everytime I email support, they usually answer within the day.
My main pet peeve is the noisy CD Drive. -
Very poor support from Fujitsu. No infomation about part, upgrade and compatibility reports. Unbelivable shortcomings on part of memory upgrade.
Laptop is overall solid n6010 -
2 screen failures within 7 months see thread, so not happy
