I can't seem to find any info on this model, except for the site where I found it for sale here in Belgium. Is this an existing model under a different name?

Icebreaker found it on for me on http://www.pixmania.be/be/nl/382095...1538-b5010.html?afficheAllPacks=1#accessoires

    It's a Turion X2 TL50 1,6 GHz, 1024 Mb, 120 GB 15,4"

Anyone know if this is any good?
Anyone have any experience in getting Linux (Ubuntu) running on a model like this? Or on any Fujitsu Siemens notebook?
Any ideas on the battery life? It's not mentioned on the website.

From the specs it looks like it could be interesting. I just would like to know if I could get it to run Ubuntu and how long the battery will last.

Doesn't anyone here know anything about this laptop?

I'd realy like to know what kind of battery (6 cell? 8 cell? how many mAh?) it's got and how long it'll run on a charged fully battery.

What info do you want? It is the same chasis that is used for Alienware m5550`s. There`s also the Amilo PI, basically the same notebook but with Intel CPU`s

The same notebook is for sale at Carrefour, albeit with 2GB of DDR and a slightly bigger drive (don`t know about the CPU`s speed) for 1000, so I guess it`s not a bad deal. I`d take Carrefours service over some shabby online place, though.

This is a very decent notebook for a decent price and with high upgrade potential. The keyboard is pretty good, the touchpad too (even though the keys click a bit much. The screen is OK (not perfect though). Build quality is OK, but the surfaces scratch rather easy.

Battery life could be better, too.

Is that Carrefour in Belgium or France? I'm living in Belgium, so if they sell it in France it's no use. I don't feel like driving to France for it and also for after sale service it wouldn't be very handy.

Belgium. They have both PI and PA models.

Don`t know about the battery, but I don`t think so. So, that`ll be about 2.5 hours battery when doing normal desktop stuff.
