    Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M6450g not Switching on the screen.

    I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M6450G laptop , when i switch it on the hard drive you can feel that it is running but it has a black screen the lights with a letter A will be on (green one) and the one which is next to it. I thought it was being caused by the Processor then, i fitted onother one but same story. Pliz help what should i do to overcome this problem.

    At this point are you able to use an external monitor successfully?
    IF yes Can you get into the BIOS?

    I just fixed my sisters dead Amilo M1405 as it had a similar problem. The power and DVD Drive light would come on, but nothing on screen. I took it apart, but didn't remove the mobo. Still wouldn't work. Then as a last resort I tried searching for forum threads with a similar problem, and found one that involved prising the lid while pushing the keyboard. So I did this (sort of) by lifting the mobo up off the case, and it came to life!

    Only thing I can think of is that after a while of use, the keyboard plate presses down on the back of the mobo and causes some sort of short out.
