    Hi,
I just ordered a P7120D two days ago, and it was confirmed today. ETA on shipping was 5/30/06. A couple hours later I signed on to the Fujitsu site just to see if the status changed at all. (as you can see I'm pretty excited). The ETA changed to 6/5/06. Well, alright, I can deal w/ that. SO, I checked it again just now, and the ETA is 7/25/06!?!?! By THAT time they'll come out with something new. I'm gonna be pretty pissed if thats the case. I don't know what to do. Are they just F-ing w/ me, or should I just cancel. I didn't expect it to take 2 months to get the dang thing direct from the manufacturer. any suggestions?

Call Fujitsu. Can't find out what's really going on any other way.

Yep, call. That sounds absurd. I would cancel for that kind of delay.

    So I called,

They said it was the modular battery that i ordered. It was on back order, and they could not send out any part of the order without it being fully complete. Apparently also they could not take off the battery of the order, and i must first cancel, wait til my credit card company clears the freeze fujitsu puts on the acct. for the amount of the order, and then order again. crap. ha, the funny thing is is that i ordered a 512mb memory module for it a day after i bought it, and it was at my doorstep this morning.

That's fast. Newegg? I don't think even they are that fast...

Sucks about the having to cancel/wait/reorder. Fujitsu has something to learn from Amazon.

    a) You can call your CC company ask them to raise your credit limit so you don't have to wait for the freeze to clear. A lot of times all it takes is ask. Other times, if you tell them a story, they'll do it. (No, I never had to do it, but I know people who have.)

    b) If you have to wait for the freeze to clear.. Who knows, what if a rebate for it comes out? They usually do after the turn of the month. I know there was a $100 rebate for my N6210 like a month after it came out, and it wasn't even in my possession, so I was angry. Anyway, it's possible that nothing will happen, but what if?

    Good luck :)

Nope, not newegg. superwarehouse.com, and i'm pretty impressed how fast that was. I might be buying from them again w/ that kind of speed.

Yes i ended up calling the cc company and everything. a pain in my arse. o well, its on its way. . .too bad not for another week because of the atheros card. Its ok, i've heard too many bad things about the Intel card to dabble.

As for rebates and such, i used a small business acct. w/ fujitsu. gave me 10% off the purchase. :D cheese

btw i am still excited. ha i've bought a neoprene slip for it, and im lookin for a good bluetooth mouse for it too.

oh and just to note, the customer service for fujitsu was superb. native english speakers, and very helpful throughout.
