Hello All
I am new to this forum and sorry for posting a question as my first post.![]()
As the topic state I have a Lifebook P 7010 with XP Professsional since last 3 yrs now.
For last 6 months, upon rebooting the notebook, keyboard that gets loaded is the Japanese 106 keys Keyboard and not the Standard 101/102 keys or MS PS/2 keyboard that should be there.
Naturally all keys are distorted on the Jap. keyboard layout and i need to use the onscreen virtual keyboard to get things right.
I have attached a screenshot of what happens.
After doing a lot of wasteful research.
1) I managed to reach HKEY> LOCAL MAchine>system>services>i8042prt>parameters
The registry should be as it is now (screenshot attached), however when the Jap keyboard loads, the registry entries are different with LayerdriverJPN showing as kbd106.dll or similar....LayerdriverKOR is also different and 3 additional entries showing override something something before the polling iteration entries.
So I managed to export concerned registry values from a proper pc and import when problem occurs.
2) But the above alone doesnt rectify the problem. I have to go to device manager and remove the Jap keyboard, restart on many occasions and by fluke it loads the correct drivers for standard keyboard.
What is the problem and how do I resolve it permanently.
Thanks in advance for your help.
