I am looking for a lightweight notebook to travel around Europe with. I like to take digital photos and then edit them with Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. My son likes to play games such as Halo, Rise of Nations, Warcraft III etc.
Will this integrated video chipset (if I add ram to 766) be good enough for:
1) Photoshop type editing of images
2) Gaming as described above
3) Light video editing suchas Video Studio 8 (rarely done at work)
-
1) Yes, though you may experience some lag wrking with large files.
2) Maybe. The games will have to be set on their lower settings. I can live with that, I don't know if your son can.
3) Probably, again though, you may see some lag.
If you like this machine, you may consider buying from www.laptopsinc.com as they offer a 30-day return policy without penalty. That way you can try these things out. You may also benefit slightly from Dothan, which should be in the 6000 series by July, that site is taking pre-orders for the S6220.

Maybe they took it down? I don't see it either.

Brian, I checked www.laptopsinc.com and did not see any mention of the S6220. Do you have to call to preorder/learn out it, or is it somewhere else on the site?
-
Brian, sorry to keep bothering you, but do you know what the specs of the S6220 will be, and/or what the price will be. If the price is going to be too high (as compared to the S6210), then I will get the S6210 now. If the S6220 will be equally price (as the S6210), I will wait for it in July. Can you help me out here, or should I call laptopsinc?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Here is some info for anyone interested in future Fujitsu Lifebook releases:

I don't know...though I can't image the price difference will be more than $50-$100.
