    Hello all,

i have been looking for a 17" desktop replacement and after some suggestions on this website, leaning towards their option.

however i have several questions since they are not rated in consumers reports or digest.

how is their customer service via phone or IM?
are their products reliable? less likely to breakdown?

also should i decide to make the plunge...

should i just get 2G of memory and update it to 4G later on, since it seems cheaper to do so outside? Best buy, circuit city, etc.

should i get all the software pre-installed, MS office, backup software etc?

    thanks for everyones input!

i have used their customer support a few times. it was for an ac adapter replacement, battery replacement, to service for some touchpad/keyboard problems. every time i had contacted the person on the other side was courteous and concise and i rarely was put on hold for a long time. i told them my ac was dead...the told me to do a couple of things that didn't work, then told me they were shipping one to me and to just ship the other one back. told them my battery had too much wear, and they just sent me another battery and told me to send the other one back in the same box. i had touchpad/keyboard problems...they told me to mail it back to them but i would have to pay shipping. i told them i wouldn't pay shipping, so they gave me an address of a local repair center that i could drop my notebook off. the only gripe i had with cs/repair is that the repair took longer than expected b/c the parts were backordered. and they didn't fix my keyboard problem, but it wasn't a big deal anyway...

I bought Fujitsu N6420 the $1499 one but I got it for $1325 from new egg, they have great discount on N6240 series http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...980226+1039323203+1039806696&name=17.0%22

so far I am very happy with this notebook, excellent build quality and screen, everything is great in it. I bought Hitachi 7200rpm and installed it, I called Fuitsu and they sent me the bracket for free :) their service looks good so far, no complain.

I will highly recommend this laptop for its price, quality, and performance
