help i spent the whole day and i am still unable to get an answer.
I have S6130 with the wireless built in.
I am able to connect with my linksys router without WEP encryption
and unable to GO ANYWHERE with WEP encryption.
Signal sign is strong and fades within seconds and Strong again but i cannot SURF anywhere not even for one second
I typed a passphrase for my router when setting it up
and the S6130 is using INTELPROset program so when i create a profile, add the ssid and choose OPEN network and 128 bit WEP
i type the passphrase right and everything
reboot connect connect but it never gets connected
can someone PLS HELP???
why it only connects without WEP?
so tired...and sad..

Oops, I did not see the 128 bit.
If you use IntelPROset, you have to turn off the checkbox that says
"Use Windows to configure my wireless network setting".
1. Go to control panel -> network setting.
2. Click on wireless network connection. Click properties.
3. There are 3 tabs. Go to wireless networks.

I have no problem using S6130 with D-link using WEP.
Did you set the key correctly? How many bits are you using? -
CORRECTION i left the 802.1x enabled BLANK DID NOT enable it as i don't use that with the Linksys
-
dear dexin
windows is not managing my wireless network...it is not checked.
pls can u really help me figure out why.
i really sat here whole day and night and i still don't know.
i tried both with Open and Shared network
but typed in the pass phrase correctly for sure
but i did leave the
rest of everything else blank example 802.1x enabled
could it be i am using linksys and you are d-link
it just doesn't make sense i can surf without wep enabled and not surf with it enabled
=(

dexin, thank you by the way for your help.
any help is appreciated LOTS!
ohhhh the frustration! -
Sorry about your situitation MSfishnchips.
Question:
Did you try to use WEP OPEN using 10 Char Hex instead?
And then try to use manual setting of WEP key 1?
Go to Control Panel -> network connection ->wireless network
You see two tabs. Select support.
Did you get any IP address from the DHCP server of linksys?
If no, then you know that the problem is at the AP.
Try rebooting to AP if it is no and see what happen.
If yes, then .... we will have to narrow down step by step the cause of the problem either at LB or AP.

dexin, i'm too tired to try but once i try again i'll get back.
