Hey guys, I know a few people have been curious whether or not those Core Duo's can be upgraded. I orded my T2600 on monday and it is supposed to be here today so I am gonna give it a shot. I have the N3530 with the T2300 in it right now so it will be a nice 500Mhz jump up. I will let you know how well it goes. Wish me luck!

Wow, it must be nice to be rich. You decided to upgrade for a lousy 500 MHz when there's all this new technology in the pipeline for the next 6-9 months (Core 2 Duo, Santa Rosa)?

Do you also light your cigars with fifties?

I have the T2400 and I can barely notice any diference between that and the T2300. Yeah, you better let us know how it goes!

Awww, did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Actaully, I am 21 years old and earn every penny I have to spend. I have been on my own and out of my house for the last 3 years and have busted my ass every day of it :) A lousy 500Mhz huh? Still, its a 30% increase...not too shabby. And let me think here...should I go with a new processor as an upgrade or take your suggestion and wait for Santa Rosa where I would have to buy A NEW **** LAPTOP...geee....i dunno. And incase you didn't hear, the new Merom chips (Core 2 Duo) are gonna be pin compatible with the Yonah chips. So hopefully Fujitsu will release a bios update that supports that and that will be my NEXT upgrade. Funny thing is...I also have a T7400 ES sitting right here. It just wont work :p And, btw, I HATE cigars, nor do I ever have any cash.

I think I can help you diagnose the reason for that problem...

Yeah, they call it an ATM card. I'll make sure, next time I do smoke a cigar I will have a fifty on hand to light it with. I'll even take some pics for you.

Allright fellas! Just got it installed, and it WORKS PERFECTLY!!!! Detects it in the bios and windows shows it as well. A complete success. So, for those who were curious, you can put a fast chip in your Lifebook N3530 :)

Yes, there is a definite perfomance increase. Effectively, its 1ghz faster (Dual Core, 500Mhz each core). I only did a couple benches but my 3dmark03 score went from 2000 to some 2400ish. Not too shabby. The few games I do have on there run smoother as well. I can increase details while still being very much playable. I am happy with the upgrade.

Well, don't hold your breath, out of all the notebooks I have ever owned, this is the worst aspect of Fujitsu's support. They have not released a single BIOS update for any of the 35xx notebooks since they released.

I have bugged them like hell to fix the issues that make the ExpressCard slot a good business card holder on my 3510, this was one of the reasons I bought the **** thing in the first place. Their 'senior' internal support people told me they have a policy of not releasing BIOS updates once a machine has shipped, as they do thorough testing before they ship. Hmm, so why doesn't the ExpressCard slot work with complex PCIe heirarchies then?
