Like the topic says... has anyone undervolted a s7020. Any instructions or hints? All I've found are messages in the asus forums though I assume its mostly the same.

Undervolting any PM machine should be tha same. I undervolted my fujitsu using rmclock. CHC is also an alternative with a better interface and built in temp monitors but requires the .NET framework.

Yeh I used CHC last night and undervolted my s7020. Mine seems to be stable at the lowest setting for 6x (.7V). For the 13x multiplier it is stable at around 1.020V.

The bad thing is that my s7020 does not communicate temps with CHC or speedfan. The fujitsu interface must be slightly newer or different. I'm running prime95 right now while I'm at work for long term stablilty. I'll report back later.

I am also stable so far at 13x at 1.02v. So far Prime95 has been stable for 4hrs+.

What is CHC? Is that a software which can make longer battery life? Where can i download it?

which one is better? CHC or RmClock? Does this kind of software really improve battery life? Does anyone really get 4 hour battery life with S7020 or S7020D?

well I don't know about battery life yet. But I ran mine at 1.020V all day using prime95 and it was noticably cooler. The only temp you can read comes from the HD and that dropped about 9degC from before.

As for CHC or rmclock. It doesn't really matter they work the same. I think CHC is a little nicer in terms of interface and in theory can monitor temps and control the fan, but not on our computers.

CHC = centrino hardware control. Just google it.

What's the consensus here? Min(6x) 0.7V and max(13x) 1.02V works for all who tried undervolting? Anyone had problems within this range? I assume you guys have 1.73GHz CPUs.

Also did you set the same values for both AC profile and Battery profile (I am using RMClock 1.6)

    Thanks!
