Hello, I'm new to the Fujitsu brand of notebooks, and I have a few questions.

    1) How does Fujitsu's quality compare to Fujitsu-Seimens brand of notebooks?
    2) Where the Fujitsu and Fujitsu-Seimen brand made in? (China, USA, Japan, etc...)
    4) How is the build quality of both brands of notebooks, and how do they compare to other mainstream companies (Dell, HP, Sager...). Are the notebooks made out of plastic, a Mg compound, or Carbon Fiber?
    5) I've looked at Fujitsu.com's website, and could not find any notebook with a dedicated graphics card other than the X1400 (which is a pretty bad card), so is there any other USA website where I can buy Fujitsu's notebooks with different components (lightweight, but with better cards like the 7400 or X1600)?

    Thanks in advance!!

    1. don't know, never used Fujitsu siemens
    2. My n5010 was made in taiwan
    4. Mine is great, but it's a tank. Nice hard metalish lid. Rest is plastic, I think. Very solid, what ever it is. I schlep it to and from school everyday for 2 years now. Others will vary.
    5. Nope.

    1. Fujitsu is better and more expensive than Fujitsu-Siemens.
    2. Fujitsu is usually (if not always) assembled in Japan, though of course as with other companies, parts come from other countries. I know my N6210 came from Japan. Don't know anything about Fujitsu-Siemens.
    4. Fujitsu is awesome, although on the heavy side. As you may know, Fujitsu's screens are one of the best in the industry. It's not the case with Fujitsu-Siemens, and F-S's build quality doesn't have the same reputation. Of course, we here in the US don't know too much about F-S. I don't know what the case is made of, but you can call 1-800-FUJITSU and ask. As with 90% of notebooks, however, it's some type of plastic - but it feels firm and if you press on the back of the lid, you don't get ripples on the screen. So, the case material is not something to worry about, but it certainly doesn't help in terms of weight.
    5. Unfortunately, no.
