    Hi,
I have a Fujitsu N6010 with the standard RAM of 512MB.
Last week during Boxing day sale, I bought 2 RAM sticks with the hope of upgrading the memory to 1024MB.
It's an obscure brand (AZENRAM), but it's a bargain.
Each stick is 512MB PC3200 CL3. The chip brand is Elixir.
    Both RAM sticks are identical.

    Then the problem starts:
The avoid confusion, I'll name the RAM stick A and B. Again, both are identical.

I put stick A in slot 1. It works and I got 512MB.
I put stick B in slot 1. It works and got 512MB.
I put stick A in slot 1 and stick B in slot 2. Stick B not recognised. I got 512MB
I put stick B in slot 1 and stick A in slot 2. Stick A not recognised. I got 512MB
I put stick A in slot 1 and original stick in slot 2. Works fine. I got 768MB
I put stick B in slot 1 and original stick in slot 2. Works fine. I got 768MB
I put original stick in slot 1 and stick A in slot 2. Works fine. I got 768MB.
I put original stick in slot 1 and stick B in slot 2. Works fine. I got 768MB.

I think I have exhausted every possible combination.
My conclusion is that the slots are OK, the newly bought sticks are OK.......... except when both put together, it won't work?!

Anyone here could tell me what the heck is wrong?
My BIOS is version 1.14A. Fujitsu website doesn't have any BIOS upgrade for N6010, so I guess the version I have is the latest.
    TIA!

You're not going to like this, but I think you need to get different RAM, or at least one different module. Some of those value brands just don't work right.

When I was at the store, I noticed that there are 2 different kind of AZENRAM sold:
some of them use "elixir" chips and some uses "v-data" chips.
I purposely selected 2 RAMs with the same brand of chip used hoping that they would work better together.

Maybe I should just return both and get a decent branded RAM instead............... thinking hard..........

i highly recommend just returning them and looking at newegg.com for some RAM, and just go with a good brand this time, it isn't worth the hassle
