Hi guys. I am hoping that someone out there can help me with this one. I have an Amilo LI 1718 laptop running Vista HE. 2 GB Ram. 160GB HDD.

Everything has been great for the past couple of years until last month this happened whilst I was surfing

    YouTube - P1020197.flv

I rebooted and it happened again, so I restored the OS from a ghost image. Everything was fine for 1 day then it came back. When it happens the laptop freezes and you can't power off by holding down the power button, so I have to remove the battery and power lead. Things I have tried to date

1.. Full format then clean install - it happened again during install
2..Flashed the BIOS - no help
3..Removed and reinserted the RAM chips - no help
4..Bought a new 2.5'' HDD - reinstalled OS - ok for 2 days and then same thing
5.. Tried running it just off mains - battery removed - no joy
6.. Tried running it on a Belkin notepad cooler with fan going just in case it was overheating - no joy
7.. Tried reinstalling graphics drivers - no joy
8.. Tried running a Linux Live CD - just in case it was windows - same result
9.. Tried running it in safe mode - Same result
10.. Tried running Last Known Good Configuration

Is it just time to give up and buy a new one or can a tech-head help me out?

have you tried using just one ram chip? (try each one at a time)

Can you go to BIOS? do you get the same error in bios?

    Hi thebranded

Thanks for your comments. Yes I have tried one ram chip at a time, no difference. Yes I can get the bios screen but I am never there long enough to get the problem. I think the inbuilt GPU is on its way out so it would be a new mobo time, in which case I may as well but a new laptop as the battery is on it's last legs anyway. Thanks again for taking the time to post.
