I just ordered my S6231 from Portable one. $1666 with tax. I got the base model but with the upgrade to 1 512 ram dimm. I was reading on a forum that Portable one offeres a free dead pixel test on laptops to make sure they have no dead pixels before they ship them.
Do they do this standard or do I need to request they do this?
Thanks for all your help guys. If it wasnt for this forum I never would have got this notebook. I think Im going to do a full review on it once it arrives.

You can always go ahead and call or send email to have them check it for you. Always better to know then just wait.

They check all the machines they sell be default, but if you want to feel good about it, go ahead and call Ivan to discuss.

I ordered at S6210 from Portable One awhile back and asked them to check for dead pixels.
They contacted me after the computer arrived and told me it had "a couple dead pixels" and that they could fix it though it would delay shipment (I had already been waiting 3 weeks).
I told them go ahead and they replaced the screen. No questions asked, no problem. I received the computer the following week and the screen is fantastic. They have the best dead pixel policy I've aware. They did mention that they perform the dead pixel check for anyone upgrading from a base model (e.g., memory or harddrive upgrade).
I would just drop Ivan an email and let him know that want the check performed.
