I've not been able to install or use my recovery disk from Fujitsu and windows XP. I assume it is a bad install disk as I have successfully installed Ubuntu and have been running it for the past couple of weeks. (Great system)

I'm thick headed and want to install XP (please tell me why?) should I try.

Question: Can I install the recovery disk with XP from my Toshiba laptop to the Fujitsu or would there be a problem with drivers?

    Thanks

I do not think it will work. I once had a SONY system and tried to install the Fujitsu recovery disk and it would not let me saying that the system is not compatible or something along that line.

As for installing XP on your Fujitsu, you can do it. However, you may need to find all the appropriate drivers online first and save them to disk. If you do not have the right driver for the internet connection, you may have lost your source of help, resources, etcetera.

It has been almost 3 years and I still have my Fujitsu recovery disk. Although it is not the original, it is a backup of it. Imgburn is a good way to make a backup of your disks.

If your disk is bad, maybe giving it a thorough wipe on your cotton shirt will help. It helped me to recover some music disks and I was able to rip it to the computer afterwards saving me some money.

Thanks, I thought it may not work. I didn't want to try it before I asked. The recovery disk I have used just gave me the blue screen of death. I do have another one at home, but I'm currently in Germany. I'm running Ubuntu on it now and it runs better then it has ever. I may just keep it on there.

    Thanks
