I know Atheros can run up to 108MB and consume less power than Intel's. Now i wonder how much difference do 2 make in term of battery life? 1-2 mins or 15-20 mins?

Does it really have better range? Will I be able to upgrade the card on my N6210? I am pretty dissappointed with the wireless capabilities.

The Intel cards have loads of problems, plus the Atheros units support Super G.

Just a heads up- if you opt for the Atheros card in at least the S7020D series, make sure the Atheros client software is on the computer when you get it. If you look at my post addressed to all S7020D owners, you will see that I had a nightmare before we discovered that Fujitsu has neglected to image the file on the drives. Otherwise, the unit is a dream (although this past week it has been my nightmare).

Don't worry. The Atheros will usually come with the driver and utility.

I wasn't trying to scare people- just help them avoid all the aggravation I have had, because it seems that Fujitsu has made an imaging error that they weren't aware of, and was not installing the software on the hard drives in the S7020D units.

Wow, so the rumour that it is soldered in isn't true? i was under the impression that S6231 owners were stuck with Intel. I can say, however, that installing the latest version of the Intel software did help my connectivity issues. Any advice on how to get the keyboard off a 6231 to look inside?

I used to be laptop technician, that's why i know.

Sure, in order to take off the keyboard you first have to remove the LCD panel (where the power bottom and other application bottoms are). Once you remove it, you just need to lift the keyboard up.

After that, you'll be able to see the fan, wireless card and other components.

Of course there are some screws that you'll need to remove before you perform such tasks, however it's not hard at all.

    Good luck.
