    Hi everyone,

I just received my S6231 over the weekend. Tax refund came back in and I couldn't resist the urge to spend the extra money. Waiting for news of the Sonoma update was too much of a pain.

The screen is gorgeous compared to the S6120 I had previously :) The keyboard also has a much more solid feeling to it, and I haven't noticed the keyboard flex that others mentioned before.

Also ended up getting 1 gb of ram and the 7k60 in the notebook. Boy, does it zoom compared to the previous computer :) I do hear some noise from the 7k60 parking its head, but its been a gentle clicking that isn't too bad compared to some desktop hds I've owned before.

Guess I'm just another happy owner of a fine Fujitsu S6231.

    mybs,

congrats on your new 6231!! Sounds like you're really going to enjoy it [ :)] I just convinced a good friend to buy one, and she can't wait to get it (from P1, of course).

Can't wait to get my tax refund. Only problem is whether to spend it on computers or on more glass for my camera. decisions, decisions....[ :p]

I typed in above post: "What is P1? Is this where you bought your S6210?"

    Im sorry, I meant S6231, not 6210.

What is P1? Is this where you bought your S6210? What is the URL? Inquiring minds want to know. So you like your laptop huh? Are Fujitsu notebooks reliable and relatively trouble-free if taken care of? Is Fujitsu support fairly good? Thanks very much for your time to those that reply. It is much appreciated.

Congratulations on your decision to purchase the best portable laptop on the planet. Perfect screen size. Small enough to take anywhere. Sturdy and well put together. I wouldn't have waited for Sonoma either. Its always the same...sometime next month. Performance increase will be negligable. Price will be higher.
Your post confirms that Fujitsu got it right in making improvements to the S6120.

if i am not mistaken the software provided by intel for the wireless card has a setting that decreases the transmission power while on battery to save power. Just find that and crank it up to stay on max power. That should solve it. Unfortunatly neither of my 2 laptops uses an intel wireless to make sure of it!

    Congrats on your new toy!

Hurray, I got my 6231 this evening and have been going at it for 7 hours straight!!!

Only hiccup was on battery the wifi connection was intermittent. There are so many settings, yet plugging it back in to power and wifi is solid. Either I'm doing something wrong, or the intel pro wireless doesn't like my .11b dlink 614+.

Everything else is what I expected. It's just the right size, not too small, not too big. Haven't even plugged in the bay battery yet.

Thanks, good tip. That did it plus I'm "excluding" neighborhood networks as they come up. I think my wifi was trying to go out and make contact across the street instead of focusing on the router 3 feet away. [ :D]
