I just checked PortableOne's standing on ResellerRatings.com They have a current rating of 9.17, and a lifetime rating of 9.84. Really correlates with what many have said here about them. From what I've already gathered from my dealings with them, the reviews are all right on the mark. The only downside is now I am back to the "just placed an order and now hafta wait" stage. That and I doubt I will receive my new toy before Spring Break (in a week), however I should hopefully get it by the end of Spring Break. I'm not doing any coding or a whole lot of work that actually needs a computer this semester, so the missing laptop mostly means handwritten notes. Anyone that has purchased from P1 should do both P1 and potential future customers a favor and post a review of their purchasing experience.

Why does it take P1 so long to ship? I read this everywhere on notebook forums. Everyone orders, then they wait weeks to get what they ordered.

No thanks, I couldn't wait THAT long. I can wait 7 days, and that's fine. But I have seen people on this form stating their orders got pushed back months.

Most of the time this is due modifications that P! will do (change hard drive add memory) The units ship from japan to p1, P! will inspect, modify then ship. If there are dead pixels they replace the screen BEFORE you get it. A very nice touch most retailers dont go through. NEwegg ssure does not. and prices, while not the lowest out there are cheaper than fujistu direct, cheap than many out there. All in all I figured it was worth the wiat, even if i have to wait till the 15th to get my n6010. I will post a full review of it and P1 when it gets here.

well if they have stock they ship the same day! If you checked my N3510 thread, I ordered on tuesday noon and they shipped tuesday night. I had ordered a base unit and only asked for the screen to be checked for dead pixels! And well as of today morning (saturday) my replacement N6010 (check my N3510 thread for info) is at the local airport waiting for delivery on monday morning. So I would say they operate pretty fast, when they are stocked (BTW my replacement N6010, as I wanted it configured, shipped from fujitsu USA direct, to avoid delays, since they didn't have my configuration in stock, they had some configured differently, I think it was the HDD).
But from what I understand it's fujitsu USA that doesn't keep large stocks of units, a month ago the wait for an N6010 was a couple of weeks and well now in less than one week 2 laptops were shipped to me.
    I am pretty darn happy! [ :D]

ETA Monday Morning: N6010 to replace my now returned N3510

How fast P1 can ship to you is a matter of stock on hand. They have to wait for Fujitsu to ship to them if they don't have it. That's the part that can take a while. Once P1 got my system from Japan, they had it modded and out the door same day. P1 is FAST. Them getting machine from Fujitsu is slow.
