    Hi All,

I bought a Lifebook N series last February and have loved the computer with one definite exception. In August, for no apparent reason, the LCD failed. I brought it to the service center (100 miles away) and they declared it to be a faulty LCD and replaced it. When I got the computer back, it did the same thing for just a second, but then seemed OK. I mentioned this to the Repair center and they had me bring it back and couldn't find anything elso wrong.

Yesterday, the new LCD again failed. I've spoken with the service center again and have to send it back for a 3rd time. This is getting to be a seriuos problem. The downtime alone is getting expensive I'm a traveling musician and all my business details are kept on the computer) and since they haven't found the root problem, I'm concerned that the warranty will run out and they will still have not delt with this correctly.

Has anyone had a similar experince? Is there a problem with the LCDs I don't know about? Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Angelus[ :(]

Yikes! Worrisome, because I bought an N5010 in May. I haven't had any screen issues, and sure hope I don't. Maybe try a different repair facility? I know P1 is an authorized repair center, and you might see if they can honor the warranty for you- provided you aren't dealing with them already.

Yes, worrysome indeed. And a major problem for me as this is my main business computer. The extended downtime is getting expensive and frankly the one reason I bought Fujitsu was their supposed reliabilty.

I'm working with Premier Computer in IL which is a computer service center for many brands including Fujitsu. Sadly, they don't see that many and really don't know too much about this problem.

What's really annoying is that the warranty will run out in 2 mos and rather than assure me thay will fix this problem regardless of the waaranty period, they are trying to sell me an extended warranty. I have a real problem paying additional $ to fix something they never got right from the beginning.

They current thinking seems to be replacing the inversion board which supposedly feeds current to the LCD as it seems very unlikely that 2 LCDs would be faulty. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of problem? Does this sound reasonable?

BTW, what is P!? I've seen several references to it and I assume it's a store of some sort but have no idea other than that.

    Thanks

Sorry for not specifying what P1 meant. You should definitely send them an email/give them a call- they have a toll free number. They sell a LOT of fujitsu notebooks and are an authorized repair center. I bet they would get it right. They also claim to always use new parts.
