I recently installed an Intel Pro Wireless 2100B miniPCI module into the free miniPCI slot on my C1020. There is one problem though. There doesn't seem to be an antenna which would connect to the WLAN module. Well, there is some kind of cabling passing near the miniPCI slot, but I didn't want to pull it too hard in case it was connected to something. XP can see the module, and when the lappy is sitting right next to the router it can see my wireless network and connect to it, but when it's in my room it doesn't get any reception(and that's only about 5m away from the router, through a wall). Do you have any ideas? Or are there any owners with a C1020v who could help me, please.
Thanks!

If your notebook didn't originally ship with WLAN card, then it is probable that there are no antennas in there.
If those cables you see are indeed antenna cables their tips might be just stuck onto something (the shape of the tip is sort of like a hook and they could get stuck on things). The only way arround I guess would be to try and remove the bottom cover of the entire notebook to get a better view of what they are, and if stuck to something to free them. -
That's just what I thought. I looked at the C1020 manuals, and it looks like Fujitsu used to ship them with WLAN, but not intel ones so it's possible that they had some kind of in-built antennae. Somehow I doubt that I will find them inside the lappy, and I don't really want to risk opening it. Do you know where I could buy these antennae in the UK?
