I've had my laptop for 1 1/2 years and it has worked great until yesterday. The right side of the keyboard, alpha characters, all of a sudden now type in numbers. The left side works fine, for now. Could I have accidently caused this? How do I fix it?

If you have a keyboard without numpad you might have accidentally activated the NumLock key. This is most likely done by some Fn key combination and an LED should indicate that.
I'd need the exact model name to give you more detailed information.
