Has anyone loaded Linux (Suse, Lindows, Red Hat or Fedora) on the N6010? How can we go about loading the drivers from the CD that we got from Fujitsu?

    Thanks!![8)]

The drivers on the CD are for windows! You need to find linux drivers.

I had a lot of trouble trying to get linux to run on the N6 and eventually gave up. But I am a n00b at linux. I think the SiS chipset caused the trouble. I tried different ditroz and I cannot remember which one kept crashing until I switched of HT.

I waiting till I go back home in just over a month. I will let one of friends, who knows his way around linux, do the installation for me! [)]

There are users here who have linux installed on a fujitsu, but if I remember correctly on a different model. But maybe they will be able to help you.

I dual boot XP and Linux on my N5010. I suggest the following distros: Kanotix, Knoppix, and Libranet.
Kanotix and Knoppix are both live cd's, so you can run linux out of your RAM. They can also be installed to the HDD. However, Knoppix was never intended to be installed on the HDD, so it's a little difficult to work with. Kanotix is intended to be installed on the HDD. Once you install it, you have a beautiful debian "SID" system. Both of those are free as in no $ required.

Libranet is my preferred distro. You can download 2.8.1 for free, or pay for version 3.0. I would pay for version 3.0 if I had the $ to spare. 2.8 is good, but 3 is even better. Libranet has the thing called Adminmenu that makes it very easy to maintain your system, set up hardware, and so forth. Also provides stable updates/repositories so you don't have to worry about breaking your system by downloading an incompatible package from the debian repositories- very nice. Libranet also has great user forums for getting help in addition to their "up and running support".

Edit: Qwester, what problems did you have?
