I bought my laptop with 512MB RAM, after having it for two years and sending it away for one repair, I recently decided to check the RAM via Control Panel >> System and it says I only have 192MB RAM.

    Is this normal...?

192 + 64(shared vidram) = 256. My very first bootup I checked that the ram and harddisk I purchased were correct.

if it's 512 on two chips, one may be bad.
