I was just wondering about the S2110 notebooks, the modular slot it normally empty? For example, does the standard S2110 comes with a hard drive, an optical bay for CD/DVD, and the empty modular slot?

If that is the case, then can I have this possibility?

1 HD, 1 Optical, 1 main battery AND 1 modular battery

And on a side note, I really do appreciate this community. For the past 3 months I was only looking for the best deals on the Dell 700m, but have now switched focus on spending more for a better quality notebook that will hopefully last me at least 5 years with everyday "normal" use. I've basically decided on the Fujitsu S2110 and will most likely purchase it from portable1. Which reminds me, how long does portable 1's customer service last, in the event that I need something fixed after the 1 year warranty?

Portable One is very good, they also sell a 3-year for $100, that's the best price going that I'm aware of and probably worth it if you want the piece of mind. I usually recommend against extended warranties, but for $100, it's hard to beat.

The modular bay is just a single thing, you can't put more than one item in it. The default is the optical drive, though it comes with a weight saver, essentially a plastic cover if you leave it empty. If you want to use the extra battery, you lose the optical.

Yup. As Brian said, if you rather have another hard drive, or second battery in the machine, you'll have to take the optical (CD-RW/DVD) out in order to do so. It's a nice feature to have for future use, but ideally, most will just keep the machine as is.
