    Guys!

I think I have a mobo problem on my dear fujitsu lappy. Any of u good folks have a spare mobo lying around by any chance? Please let me know.

What's happening: The fan just comes on and stays on. Nothing else happens. One of the RAM modules seem to be "melted" (I will try and post pics) but that does not seem to be a big deal...any other things that I should check out?

I don't think there will be any people who have spare motherbaords, however, it may be worth a look on ebay. Also, a BIOS update may help the fan issue. It may be that it comes on, because the processor temperature is consistently high enough, to keep the fan running. Use a program like NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) or Everest, to check the temperature.

If you decide to use Everest, then use the Ultimate Edition, as the Home Edition may not report the temperature correctly. Ultimate Edition is a trial version, so it will bring up annoying pop-ups, however, you just need it to check the temperature.

Thanks Zero! I forgot to mention that nothing ever comes up on the screen but only the fan comes on and keeps running. So, I cannot run any software :(

I checked ebay. Mobo was around $400 and the laptop itself only worth around $500 maybe. oops!

By the sounds of it, it seems like its a motherboard problem, which are expensive to replace, as you have found out. Something that may help is to remove the melted or damaged RAM, and see if it works on the other module. Thats assuming you have two modules.
