I've had my Fujitsu S6220 for a little over a year now and NEVER had a problem with it ( I LOVE it). About a half hour ago, in the middle of me working on my it a blue screen with white lettering flashed for a second and then my computer restarted, which scared the crap out of me. Then I got this error message when I restarted (sorry for it being so big):

Anyone have this before? It has me completely freaked out. Don't want this happening again.

    Thanks.

happened to me twice ... wasn't even stressing my system or anything. At the time I thought it was the RAMs that I had just installed. I ran tests and found nothing wrong.

So if this doesn't repeat again in the next few days, I think it is safe to assume that it was just windows doing what it does best ... crashing. :D

BTW that blue screen most probably said something like, windows has detected that the system has become unstable and has restarted to avoid damage ... or something of that sort!

I just love looking at pictures of other people's desktops. It's like a slice into another person's world.

Hmmm.... unexplained goofyness can also derive from bad powersupplies, as I have been recently reminded by trying to troubleshoot a flaky pc in the lab. It would randomly reboot, I mean REALLY randomly. Couldn't find any hardware problems (cpu, ram, HDD, motherboard), everything benchmarked fine, finally bought a new powersupply, and the gremlins seem to have left. Maybe your powersupply/battery is starting to get flaky?

So after the laptop crashing again under the same circumstances I called up Fujitsu.

The tech guy said my problem was that I had newly installed hardware that wasn't compatible with the laptop, which was far from the case based on that the only hardware that my Fujitsu might not be accustom to is the lack of my iPod which got stolen the other day by maids at a hotel (w00t). Microsoft on their little "send your error report" said the same thing as the Fujitsu guy. Anyway, the tech support guy went through some diagnostics and said that hopefully it was fixed. I went out of my apartment and came back later and it had again restarted. I called up tech support again (actually got the same tech support guy) and he wanted me to use my driver CD's (which I didn't have handy since I had just moved) - I then asked if I should try a system restore (since this only had been occuring since the afternoon), which apparently he was just about to tell me to do. I did that and it has been fine ever since (knock on wood).

As noahsark said, it probably was the power supply - NYC had some torrential downpours throughout this ordeal (the satellite TV was acting up etc) and that probably was the root of the problem. That still is odd though considering my laptop does obviously have a battery, which seems to be working perfectly fine. ((sigh))

I must say though, I was extremely impressed with Fujitsu tech support. I got connected to a tech support guy almost immediately and could actually understand him (no outsourcing!) - not to mention he was very friendly. It's refreshing when calling some corporation and not having an aggravating customer service/tech support experience.
