Hey guys, I bought the Fujitsu N3510 notebook partly because it had s/pdif output so I could use my receiver with it. However, I'm having problems of actually getting it to work. Updated the drivers too, to 5.10.0.6090. How I've tried so far is I went into the RealTek sound manager, went to the s/pdif tab and selected output digital only, but doesn't seem to go. I know for sure the receiver works because I just tried it with my cd-rom. The cable I used was a camcorder one (1/8 -> 3 rca), the 1/8 end connected to the headphone out/spdif, and tried each end of the rcas on my receiver. I don't think it could be the cable as the digital out should be sent through at least one channel but I'm no expert. Also, even though it's set to digital out only, if I connect headphones to the port, it plays music normally. Any help would be great.

nm guys, it ended up being the cable.

The notebooks I know (Lifebook/Amilo) have got SPDIF as an optical output. See also here:

Probably your receiver needs an electric signal.
