I noticed that my fujitsu will only have 400 Mhz on the RAM spec, but i wonder if i can move in some 533 Mhz RAM later on, or even the higher Mhz 6xx RAM. Anyone know? plus, does the back on the N35 scratch up at all, can I uninstall norton antivirus (which is bundled) because it doesnt perform well at most security applications like spyware removal and blocking and slows down your computer, and whats the difference between a V.92 modem on my dad's gateway laptop and my future V.90 modem on the n3511? :fujitsu: :gateway:

    Hiya,

You can't put in RAM faster than 533 MHz because of the FSB. If you do, it'll work, but it'll actually be a tiny bit slower than if you have 533. Plus, right now anyway, anything above 533 is super expensive. Also, make sure that you have the exact same modules, just to be on the safe side. If they turn out to be different, it'll go slower.

Also keep in mind, there may be no noticeable difference in performance between 400 & 533 MHz RAM in this system, which is why Fujitsu probably decided to go with the cheaper 400 MHz. Qwester posted some benchmark tests for 333 vs 400 MHz on N6010 a while back here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=16857 and there was virtually no difference. See for yourself.
