I was in Frys this weekend and noticed there is a N3511. Looked identical to the 3510 except CPU was 1.83GHz as opposed to 1.73GHz in the 3510. I guess I must have the fabled, soon to be released N3515, as I have dropped a 'spare' 2.13GHz into my 3510, and it runs no problems. Centrino control panel detects it, as did the BIOS. No noticable heat difference and about 1/2H shorter battery life at the new speedstep settings, but identical if I set it back to go at 800MHz when on batteries.

Any other differences that anyone can think of? Reason I ask is that the N3150 drivers on the FJ website are still the original ones, but the 3511 drivers are newer. Here is a list of the differences :-

    Application Panel
    N3510 4.3.0.0
    N3511 4.4

    Hotkey
    N3510 2.30
    N3511 2.5.0.0

    LAN
    N3510 4.25.0.0
    N3511 4.28.0.0

Interestingly the PCMCIA and Flashmedia entry in the 2510 is now called Flashmedia in the 3511, and there is another entry called FlashAid. Any ideas what FlashAid is?

    Thanks

No, the only material change is the faster CPU.

You also get a few more customizable options with the N3511 such as the 7200 rpm drive. It also comes with the Intel wireless a/b/g card instead of the b/g card.
