Congrats on your purchase! I am going to be buying sometime after the 15th (I'll finally have enough funds together) and the 3530 is a very strong contender. How do you like it so for? Perhaps you'd consider writing a review? (hint, hint ;) ) I'd really be interested in hearing all about it.

EDIT: Sorry, but a couple more questions. Did you order yours from Portable One? If so, how long did it take to get it? Thanks!

So far I love this laptop. N3530 has the best screen quility i've ever seen on laptops and the dual processor is nifty. The only thing that i dont really care much about is the weight of this laptop...well, it weights about 2~3 lbs more then the other laptops.
I order this from newegg for $1256 after a rebate and it took three business days to get here. Great deal! :)

Thanks! Yeah, well aware of the weight issue, but the build quality/screen seem fanstastic and more than make up for it IMHO. I will only be taking this lappy away from the house 2-3 months out of the year at most and then it won't stray from my hotel room all that often. That Newegg price sounds pretty tempting, but I've heard their laptop return policy is kind of poor so I think I will stick with P1 when/if I buy.

One last question - What kind of battery life are you getting out of it? Thanks again.

fujitsu cliams that N3530 will go about 3.5 hours but really it's only about 2.5~3 hours at max at screen brightness set to lowest.
I really like newegg, they always have everything for 10~20% cheaper then a retail prices and their shipping is fast.

P1's service and support is fantastic. well worth any (?) additional 10-20% IMO. peace of mind is worth that to me... i've got an actual name/person (Ivan!) to talk to if i ever have any issues (not to mention the P1 forum). congrats on the new notebook!

Agreed. Portableone's service AND Fujitsu's customer service is legendary. Just bought a T4020 from them and waiting patiently for this Friday. Congrats on your notebook it really has a beautiful screen!

That sounds more realistic than Fujitsu's quoted spec. About what I figured, so not disappointed. If the stars align and the river doesn't rise, I should have one of these beauties in my hands before the end of the month. I just have one last question (two rolled into one, really). What is the heat output like, and where are the warmest spots on the machine? Thanks again........

EDIT: @ tsy - So you settled on a tablet, eh? Interesting choice.

Nope. The T4020 is for the wife. I am waiting for the E8210. Reliable sources say end of this month. Its either that or if by some miracle someone boots xp on the Macbook pro.

Ya know, I was actually kind of curious about the E8210 myself. Don't think I'll be able to wait that long, though. Hope you're able to get it soon!

The notebook that's the subject of this thread, of course. ;)

Ah yes, it may be introduced at the end of the month, but ready availability may be another thing altogether. Besides, I believe I'm quite smitten with the N series by now. Who knows, if I find I can't get along with the N3530 perhaps I'll exchange it. We'll see, I guess.

I'm looking at getting this notebook as I've heard wonderful things about it. I will be using it onstage when playing live gigs with my band, controlling Reason with my MIDI Controlled Keyboard, so latency is an issue. And of course sound quality.

I am in Canada however and having a hell of a time finding the notebook in retail stores. I would order it from the Fujitsu webstie but I can't customize it like the american fujitsu site. Know any online sellers to check out that are in canada?

is there a review for this yet

Portable One will ship to canada if I remember correctly. And they have more customization options than fujitsu. You might want to send them an email. But I think you will have to pay customs.

Who did you finally order from? Just curious because the tone of your post makes it sound like you'll be getting it fairly quickly. Mine still won't be here until 3 April (knock on wood).

Yes it is the right memory. Whether or not it will work in dual channel is not absolutely certain, though, although chances are good it may still work. But it is always better to have matched pairs (or at least the same brand/model of stick) if you're planning on running dual channel.

BTW, what brand of memory came with your notebook? Mine was Micron (Crucial). Just curious.
