Hi all,
Sorry if this has been discussed but I'm not able to find it if it was. I have an N6010 and bought 2-1 gig sticks of RAM from Crucial based off their scanning tool, and it's PC3200. Only 1 gig is recognized regardless of the port I use. I can mix 1 stick with the old 256 mb PC2700 and both are recognized.
I have updated the BIOS, running the original WinXP Home, and am out of ideas short of trying to return it for PC2700 if someone thinks that will help.
Thanks in advance.
Mark
edit: It's a Lifebook N Series laptop.

According to the specs on Fujitsu's website, it takes PC2700 memory. In theory PC3200 memory should work, but downclock. Stranger things have happened I suppose. It can't hurt to try, then you'll know for sure.

If it takes PC2700 memory when you use PC3200 memory it should downclock automatically. You shouldn't need to do anything. They're the same type of memory with PC3200 being a bit faster. Perhaps it's not downclocking, but when you use the older slower stick it is. I don't know, just a theory on my part. I'd say contact Crucial for a swap to some PC2700 memory.

Thanks ZaZ that's what I'll do.

Just thought I'd follow up and mention that the PC2700 memory did work, hopefully this post will save some hassle for another N6010 owner.
Thanks again for your help.
