    as promised....

The installation of the 2nd HDD is generally a snap. Really just plug-n-play. It was a PITA because neither Fujitsu/P1 would supply the screws. You need a total of 8 screws to complete the install. Four M3 3mm screws and four M2.5 4-6mm screws. I bought mine at a local Ace Hardware. The HDD enclosure could be purchased from P1 for $10.

I would strongly recommend getting the HDD of choice at the time of purchase.

LOL - so it can be done but isn't worth the time. Seems to me most things in life are like that.

Wow, that's a nice use of the gained space compared to the N6010.

BTW I am curious, do you have the option to run the 2 drives in a RAID configuration? I know it aint to useful, but just curious :p

Congrats on the new upgrade! And nice pics, although a bit dark. :)

No, the N6210 doesn't support RAID. Like you've mentioned, it ain't useful in a notebook.

Yeah, the pics are a little dark  My new digicam has a really bright LCD and the pics turn out to be darker on a PC :(

So, I've upgraded my RAM and HDD. I'm wondering what I should do next:

1)Atheros card - I get dropped signals all the time
2)Pentium M 2.26GHz - Maybe next year, when the price drops
3)X600 w/ Hypermemory - I've updated the Catalyst drivers to the latest ones but it still shows the Video memory at 128MB. I'm wondering if the BIOS doesn't support it.

For now, the Atheros card seems to be a worthy candidate. Which one is used in the N6010? I'd like to get the same one.

what happened to your original keyboard?

also the update to the catalyst driver is available at ati.com right? and is it really worth the time?

and where are you finding a pentium m 2.26ghz?

thanks and keep telling me to buy more memory

I'm keeping the original keyboard just in case anything goes wrong with the new one.

Yes, the new catalyst drivers are available at ATI.com They really aren't worth the upgrade. It didn't do anything to my 3DMark05 score.

I'm not getting the 2.26GHz processor until the prices drop dramatically. They are selling for $800+ right now.

No, I broke my keyboard. Actually it was a faulty keyboard and when I tried to fix it myself, one of the keys broke off. I called Fujitsu and they sent over a new one under warranty.

how was it faulty? On mine, since day 1, the shift key was a bit more loose than the rest, and because I am a very soft typist (barely press the keys), most of the time the shift button wouldn't actually press. But I managed to fix it. Removed button, added some tape to it's bottom to make it thicker, poped back in, and viola ... EXCELLENT :D

No need to trouble customer service :p

Well, in my case I really gave them a hard time and was really persistent on the matter. (even though it was my fault LOL) If you are considering doing the same, be prepared to talk to 3-4 service reps and you may get lucky like me. They will most likely tell you to either 1)send your laptop in or 2)bring it in to a nearby service center. If you opt for 2), you could have it done in a day.
