Hey guys i'm in the market for a new laptop before I head back to school and I was wondering if the N6420 can handle some light gaming? Maybe even Starcraft 2 in the future? The other stuff i'm looking to do on it is just the basic listen to music, surf the net, do research and such. Kind of have to make a quick decision because the local Fry's has a no sales tax deal tonight and it seems like a great deal at $1099 US dollars. My other option is a customized 1520 Inspiron from Dell. The worker at Fry's, who seemed to know what he was talking about, had nothing but bad things to say about Dell's laptops and their service. Any help would be greatly appreciated on anything I just rambled about. =)

PS: Are there any upgrade options? Such as RAM, Hard Drive, or hopefully even video card? Thanks.

Dell experiences are a mixed bag. Some people have bad experiences and some people have great ones. If you have a warranty you can often get a brand new laptop if your laptop fails.

What graphics card does the n6420 model you are looking at have? If it has the x1400 it will game weakly but will probably run Starcraft 2 with low settings. Conversely, the Dell with a 8600 will handle starcraft easily.

    Thanks for the reply.

I believe its' the x1400 but it might be a GeForce go 7600. I need to double check. Any upgrade options on the video card? (crossing fingers)
