My new Fujitsu N6420, Mwdia Center, HD DVD has lost it's sound device twice now. I've only had it for 2 weeks! Fujitsu technical support can't help. They just can't figure it out. System restore does bring it back. I'm trying to track down the culprit by SLOWLY installing each item to see if that causes it. Fujitsu solution is to use system restore. Well you know what a hassle that would be, and reinstalling every program over and over again. That renders the computer worthless. No computer I own or ever owned has done this.
Realtech is the audio device.
Has anyone got an what may be causing the device to quit?
Clicking on the sound control ball just brings up an error "this device is not installed" or something. All the sound device controls are greyed out and can't be changed or otherwise configured.

When did the problem start? what software have you installed that might caused the problem? the problem couldbe between windows vista and your software, thus fujitsu has nothing to do with it.

Well, it is Media Center, not Vista.
I have no sofrware on this computer that I don't run on 3 others, and the others have been fine and not had problems.
This is a new computer.
So far fujitsu has had no part in fixing my problem. I would agree with your statement about fujitsu having no part of it.

Do a google search for Realtek and download the latest drivers and see if that works.
