    Hi,

I am considering getting the Fujitsu P7230 and/or the P8010 on the Fujitsu Ebay Store. The P7230 has a removable optical drive and weighs about 2.63 pounds without the optical drive. The P8010 has a non-removable optical drive and it weighs 2.8 or 2.9 pounds. The Fujitsu P7230 which is listed on the Fujitsu Ebay Store has windows xp professional and 1gb of ram installed on it. I am replacing a P1120 series which is almost 4 1/2 years old and if I decided to keep this unit I would have to replace a failing hard drive with a new one. Therefore, I am seriously considering buying the P7230 and/or the P8010 as a replacement for the P1120 notebook. I would appreciate it very much if anybody has any thoughts or comments about which laptop they would choose to buy (P7230 or the P8010). Thanks. :)

My mum and I bought my niece a P7230 and the laptop fans are a little bit noisy and the laptop also gets pretty hot. I also bought one of that Fujitsu computer store seller on ebay. I sent the laptop of to be repaired three times. I thought that the laptop was ok now but i was at their house not long ago and my niece was complaining of the same problem again. I could also hear the laptop making quite a bit of noise myself.

Do a search on P7230 and fan noise on google then you will read other complaints.

I am considering buying an SSD drive to try and help with the heat and fan issue and just generally make the laptop even faster. Apart from the fan it is a nice laptop and the features it has makes it more desirable than a netbook in my opinion. I also upgraded the ram to 2GB for her.

Also if this notebook is going to be your main notebook then it would be better anyway i think to go for the
P8010 as that has a better graphics card and processor which extends the life span of your notebook. The
P7230 is using a GMA 950 graphics card which has been out for about 4-5 years now. If it was not your main laptop then it would be less of an issue.

I also think that the P8010 fans are meant to be less noisy. I would go for that if i was buying for her again. Both of those models have been reviewed on this site in the review section

A new hard drive seems much less expensive than a new notebook, if the P1120 is meeting your needs otherwise. What are your needs?
