    Need Xi 1546 Motherboard

    My parents friends recently had their Amilo Xi 1546 die on them. It seems to be a motherboard issue as the laptop will constantly reboot every 5 seconds (before I get a POST screen or anything). Anyone have any ideas to revive the thing or where I'd be able to pick up a replacement MB for cheap? I've already looked online but I haven't found anything.

    Also, the laptop is originally from Germany if that makes a difference.

    Best place to look would be perhaps Ebay. There was also an Alienware which was basically the same machine in a different case.

    I sold my Xi about a year and a half ago, and it didnt hit £400 then, so you should be able to get one for less now if you can find one.

    Yeah, I looked on the German eBay site the other day and I managed to find a few systems. I guess they'll just have to buy one and have their parents bring it along when they come to visit. Hope there won't be any issues at customs...
