    Hello forum members,

When I was surfing the drivers page of F&S, I noticed the new Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Xa 2528. This notebook comes with a Turion X2 TL 60 (2.0 GHz dual core) and an 8600Go nVidia graphics card, which is DirectX 10!

The notebook is an 17" by the way.

Here is my short review of the Xa1526, the previous model: link.

Great find Charlie. Its good to see this from Fujitsu Siemens. Updating their notebooks isn't something they did a few months from here. If there upgrading the Xa series, then the Xi series won't be far behind that, and I'm wondering what graphics card they'll install in there. I suspect it will also be a Go 8600.

A bit more information on the notebook: It has a webcam and may come with a HDMI connector.

Thanks Zero. Great job that they have a webcam now. If you take a look at my review, you can definately see that the edges of the screen are very large (like 3 cm on the top). Now they use that space for a webcam, that is nice.

HDMI port is a nice extra as well. I wonder if they will use a LED screen, like some business models of F&S. Maybe they will change the exterior too.
So many questions, so little info. :)

I know, many questions. I would be lead to believe that Fujitsu Siemens won't use an LED screen just yet, because there current 17" screens are very good, and practically class leading. A webcame is a nice feature, and something which is missing from most of their ntoebooks. It adds a few more features, and it will appeal to a wider market aswell, as will the potential performance of the notebook.

Not at the moment, because the mobile 8 series has not been released yet. it should be available after some time though, as more and more DX10 card notebooks become more and more common. A few have already been announced, so release time is most likely around them and somewhat dependant on the supply that Fujitsu Siemens recieves.

It will take a while, but I advice you to look at the Intel version (which will be introduced very soon I think) with Santa Rosa platform. I prefer Intel above AMD.
But usually the AMD is much cheaper. But it is sure that the Intel version of this notebook is going to be mine :)

I'm in agreement with Notebook Solutions. The Intel verson should have Santa Rosa, which will provide a nice performance boost in processor related applications, and it will be better to wait and see what that offers.

That is why we are here, to give advice about notebooks. The Xa1526 is already very cheap these days, so it isn't very pity but still.

rhino.software, congratulations on your new notebook. Don't worry about your new purchase, because this new Xa notebook will take a while to release, and it will cost a far bit for the first month or two from release. Enjoy your new notebook. :)

Yep, I also love the car. It just looks to part. Its a CL63 AMG version, so its faster than a normal Mercedes ones. :D

    thankyou zero :) i will i hope ;)...

at least its a huge mark up on my last notebook :D which was a
toshiba 1900-303 bought in 2003 so i got my money worth from it.
its a testament to toshiba as it has never once had a fault anywhere, but i have always liked fuji for some reason just like some prefere sony or hp maybe its a 6th sense thing :p

just waiting for fuji to get back to me on a quote for ext warrant/insurance as the fuji web site shop only cover the xi model so they say and not the xa as its only been on sale since feb in the configuration i bought.

oh and anyone hear about any express sound cards yet??

    heres hoping

    thanks all
