This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    New Fujitsu Laptops

    It looks like Fujitsu has introduced - or at least announced - some new laptops.

    Their 14" units seem interesting, including one of the few with a 5000 series Intel processor on the market.

    Anyone else following these? Comments?

    Really? I'm looking to get one [more] laptop before Skylake. I don't think it's a good idea to have any mobile device emit anything beyond 5GHz radiation, so laptops and tablets are gameover for me once Skylake CPUs hit the market with their incorporated 60GHz WiGig emitters. So it's good that I can choose from Broadwell devices... If I have to hardware hibernate for another 15-20 years b/c of this radiation issue, so be it, which is the only reason why I would want a Broadwell as a spare to last me thru that time...

    What I really hope is that 20 years from now, there will be other options besides Intel + Microsoft for the masses (Apple/Android don't count since they aren't the majority)...
