    Long time lurker here.

Fujitsu has placed on their website the new N6110 and N6210 Models with the Pentium M processors.

It appears that they have dropped the prices on the N6010 models also.

The N6110 uses Intel 900 graphics, while the N6210 uses ATI X600 graphics.

They also are now offering 60gb 7200rpm drives on the N6210 and they have a dual drive offer. It appears to be a raid 0 array.

just placed my order on portableone.com for my N6210. been waiting for this laptop for a while, and needless to say i am very excited. I got it with the 512x1 RAM and 60GB 7200rpm drive, and everything else is default, but still cost a good chunk of change. Do you guys think i should've gone with the 3 year warranty? I havent heard much problems with Fujitsu, so I didnt think it was necessary, but I could be mistaken.

Cool, i've been waiting for that!

Now all i have to do is wait for x-mas, for price drops and rebates.

Shame the N6210 is no longer in the lovely pearl colour. They also added an extra ExpressCard slot in addtion to the PC card slot which was a good idea. Im interested to see whether the PM chip will offer any battery life improvements over the P4 chip. Tech specs indicate a 45 mins improvement to 2hrs 45mins on the 12 cell battery. Also the weight is only marginally lighter. I guess they left the main shell and structure alone and just swapped it out for a PM board and chip.

Could any of you guys who have either seen the new N6000s or receive one soon report on the cooling. It seems there is less cooling now, I hope that that doesn't cause overheating issues. The P4 runs amazingly cool considering the power inefficient P4 in there.

Oh ya, where does the second drive go? are the 2 drives next to each others?

    Hiyas,

I'm considering buying a Fujitsu and... How are N6110 & 6220 better than 6010? On these two, the PM's clock speed is only 1.86GHz, vs 3.2GHz on the P4. Am I missing something here? Or is the point here, who cares how fast the processor is as long as it doesn't get super overheated and cause the fan problem? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Malia,

In terms of raw power, the P4 3.2GHz may be a little bit faster but the PM 1.86GHz is actually not far behind. For everyday normal use, you probably wont notice a difference at all. The only time when you will notice a difference is probably when you are multi-tasking. But overall, i dont think the speed of the PM 1.86GHz chip is any worst than the P4 3.2GHz. Remember that a the PM chip has 2mb of L2 cache where as the P4 only has 1mb.

    Orangeguy,

What would you say is the equivalent of P4 2.8GHz when it comes to PM? The reason I ask is, I have a (desktop) P4 2.8GHz at work, and it's a little too slow sometimes for what I'm trying to do (database stuff), but it's livable. I think I'd be ok if my laptop was the same speed, but I don't want it to be slower.

I'm actually not sure if it's the clock speed that's making it slow or what, and my desktop only has 512MB RAM, so I'm making sure to put at least 1 gig of some snappy RAM into whatever laptop I get, just to be on the safe side... I'm also making sure I either get a 7200 RPM HD, or upgrade to one right away... Any idea what you need for database stuff (Access, etc)? Maybe clock speed is not what I should be after... Thanks a bunch!

    Malia

P.S. Forgot to ask... Does anyone know if N6110 looks like N6010? I'm simply in love with the pearly white keyboard...

actually a 1.6 GHz PM will probably be equivalent or better than a P4 2.8 as that's sort of a slower speed for the P4.

The new N6110 and N6210 are not pearly white, they in fact have adopted the more typical grey look of Fujitsu's such as the S6000/S7000 series. Which I prefer myself, but sounds like you'll be disappointed there.

Im also disappointed with the new grey colour scheme. Much prefer N6010's pearl white.

Malia, I think for database work, RAM is very important. I think 1GB of RAM will do you very well. It will certainly perform better than your desktop.

Ya I sure am happy with the looks of mine :D

1GB should be good enough. Problem is windows uses over 300MB with normal apps and virus scan that run on start up, leaving almost nothing for serious work. I noticed a lot of difference after I upgraded from 512MB to 1GB when doing some mathematical modeling!
