In the laptop field, the old saying that you have to run like crazy to stand still holds very true.

Staying true to the intent of that saying - anyone heard anything about a P772 (or anysuchlike) from Fujitsu?

I find the P771 to be tempting, but it is missing one or two things that stops me from recommending it. The main deficiencies are a lack of a USB 3 port, and the CPU needs to be upgraded a little more - quad core would be good. Allowing it to use up to 16GB RAM would also be good since even my P770 is almost good enough to do video editing or advanced photo editing (as long as you are not in a huge rush).

I have one friend who is looking for a small and light laptop for whom the P771 is ALMOST ideal. I have an older ASUS 17" laptop that could be sold off to make room for a Fujitsu companion to my P770. In both cases, buying the P771 means buying something that is lacking technologies that we will consider to be essential in the very near future.

Is Fujitsu going to continue to move the Lifebook series ahead? If so, anyone heard anything about when?
