Yes they have one. I believe it is 5%.

It is 5%, but you give up any other promotions they have.

Do you really want a P4 as a processor in a Laptop?
The Pentium M's use less power, and dish out as much, if not more performance than a P4. -
You can't find a PM machine with a 128 dedicated video card and a 17" display like this. It would cost more anyway and for a machine that's not moving around that much, there's little benefit.

yup true, i would opt for pentium m if it was only offered in a 17'' laptop like 'this' but it isnt (other than dell, sager and a few others i think, but i dont like their designs). As far aas what i'm using it for (a desktop replacement-multimedia, gaming), the pentium m's addvantages, less heat, less power is not really needed (it's not gonna be moving anywhere). I admit the P-M is ggenerally a better choice (ive read that a 2ghz P-M is on par in performance with a 3.2ghz P4 and consumes 1/5 of the power 20W vs 100W) but manufacturers tend to offer them only in the smaller, thinner laptops, portable laptops-which come with smaller screens and weaker video cards (theres no point in manufacturers equipping long-lasting portables with p-m's and then adding powerful but power hungry video cards-it'll just use up the battery (precisely what the P-M based computer was not designed for) and so the two are genrally not equipped together (since if u r gonna make a power(not battery)-directed laptop, itll be cheaper to use the P4 than the P-M (e.g. 3.2ghz is cheaper than the similarly powerful 2ghz p-m).
Anyways, i think this will change in the future (P4s will probably be dumped in laptops and less power hungry eg ati x700 video cards produced). I was actually considering to buy the acer travelmate 8100 which is pefrormance-wise (for games at least) is faster than the n6010, but the screen and design is not as nice and its scarcely available.
wooooo, thats a hell of a long post. anywayz, ive already ordered it (from portableone) and cant wait to get it.[] [

Wata, I take it that you ordered the N6010 from P-1, right? Great choice of notebook and vendor! So what did you go with; the student discount or the 3 yr warranty [?] Let us all know when you receive it and have had a little time to work it out! Regards, Ace [8D]

Ah, well I myself don't like those 17" wide screens. I think they are poorly designed. So I stick to Laptops with 15.4" LCDs. The images look like they fit correctly on them.
-
actually both 15.4" and 17" have the same 16:10 aspect ratio. so if it fits nicely on a 15.4" it will do so on a 17".
Yup, ive ordered it from portableone, should arrive early next week though (probably around tuesday). i actually went with neither the student discount or 3yr warranty, if i took the student discount, i'd give up on the more valuable free shipping and harddrive upgrade (since u cant get both their promos and discount together). anyway, ive bought a pair of klipsch promedia ultra 2.0 laptop speakers and the logitech v500 mouse to use with the fujitsu. i might post a review when it comes and if i have the time.[8D] -
Well the 17" screens I have seen were on Sagers, not Fujitsu's. They didn't make it look good at all.

Congrats on your decision. You are going to love that V500 mouse! Let us know about those speakers. Regards, Ace [8D]
