    Hi All,

I'm seriously considering the P7010D, but I have one question, never having owned a widescreen before. If I am viewing photos, aren't the pictures going to be stretched? If so, is there a way to view pictures in their correct aspect to avoid this stretching?

No, the resolution of 1280x768 is the same as the dimensions of the native image. The screen is wider but the aspect ratio for everything that is displayed will be correct.

Now if you change resolution to 800x600 (or whatever the choice is - I am at work right now and don't have my Fujitsu in front of me) and in the BIOS you select the option to fill the screen then THAT will stretch the image to fit the width.

If you instead select 800x600 and have the option to fill the screen off then the resolution pixel density (pixels per square inch) will be the same as the 1280x768 option but you will only get an image that is 800x600 with a black frame around the resulting image.

Does that make sense? It's not easy to follow if you don't have one in front of you but that's pretty much how it is. If you keep the output at the native resolution of 1280x768, you will not see any distortion so you would be ok.

Just to echo, photos are fine. The one thing is that you give up height, so to work with larger photos requires zooming out or scrolling.

Or you can get a standard notebook, and when you want a wide screen, just squinch your eyes.
