I've got a Lifebook P7120 that is about two years old. I'm still pretty happy with it, and am only frustrated by the frequency that I end up waiting on the machine while it is swapping to the hard disk.

I've got a 512MB memory card in the easily accessible memory slot in the bottom of the unit, for a total of 1GB of ram. I think I will significantly extend the useful life of this notebook by upgrading to 2GB. I can see the second memory slot under the keyboard by peering in the drive bay.

Can anyone point me to instructions for how to access the memory slot? I expect that it's removing the keyboard somehow, but when I removed all the screws on the underside of the unit below the keyboard, I still couldn't figure out how to release the keyboard.

As extra information, does anyone know if the machine will work properly with the 512MB chip in the factory installed option and a 1GB chip in the user accessible slot? (I believe it will, since the machine came with the second slot unpopulated, but would like feedback)

I'll take any pointers at this point. Thanks, Wim. ( Fujitsu Lifebook P7120 7120 or 7120D RAM memory upgrade)

There's a disassembly guide for the P7120 located on this page. It includes the keyboard under which the second dimm slot is located.

Thank you very much! I spent a lot of time searching, and didn't come up with that information. The document on complete disassembly of the machine was exactly what I wanted, and the link to the current memory sale was a bonus that saved me $100 from what I was already considering.
