Is there some way of regulating the fan speed or threshold on a Fujitsu Lifebook P7230? I love everything about this notebook except the truly annoying, high pitched fan noise.
Would a notebook cooler make that much of a difference in when the fan turns on if I were to use it in the docking station most of the time? (I can live with the fan noise when I'm travelling I suppose).

It is very hard to install fan control on your notebook. Or you need to have good experience with coding and programming. If you are familiar with that, then check out Notebook Hardware Control. You must write your own ACPI, which is pretty difficult. That is why I didnt go for it.
You can also buy the Spire Pacific Breeze cooler, it keeps your notebook very cool and it costs just 10$. It should also fit the size of the P7320.
Good luck. -
Interesting concept, thanks. Unfortunately none of the traditional coolers solve the issue that Fujitsu has created by having their port replicator block the hot spot under the laptop..
