Ok, so I've had my laptop for a few years now, and I don't have warranty on it anymore. Basically, my laptop won't turn on anymore..correction...it will turn on, the fan will spin, I can hear the hard drive being accessed, but nothing will show up on the screen. It is not locked, and the lock symbol is not showing as I never used that feature.

I called Fujitsu just to diagnose the problem, and we ended up deciding that the motherboard had failed. My only option through Fujitsu was to send it in and have it fixed for $600. I don't like that option, which is why I'm here to ask you guys if there is anything else I can do for my laptop. For $600, I can build/buy a better desktop, which would be fine for me, and at the moment that's what I'm planning on doing. But.....if there was someway to fix my laptop a lot cheaper, I would probably do that too. By the way, my hard drive was fine and I was able to recover everything off of it.

So PLEASE let me know if there is anything I can do for my laptop besides letting it sit and collect dust..

    THanks!
    Christopher

Does sound like a video/inverter/backlight problem to me.

I would suggest hooking up an external monitor to see if the video card is functioning properly. If that works, then the video card is working properly.

The next culprit, then could be the inverter or the backlight. I would suggest going to this website http://www.lcdpart.com/ to see if they have the inverter or backlight for your model. If your a little tech savy, this option can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs.

Anyways best of luck in your delima.

Hey thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, there is nothing coming to the monitor at all. But I think that the problem is bigger because when I power on my computer, the fan stays running high indefinitely. Normally, it turns on full blast for about 2 seconds, and then idles down to barely audible. I have built in graphics, which is why we decided that the problem was probably my motherboard.

    Any more suggestions???

Try removing the RAM then replace the modules, one at a time.
